Be the light you want to see in this world

Be the light you want to see in this world.

Let not our shortcomings interfere with our greatness. Anger, a powerful emotion, has the strength of iron to invoke all ailments of human character and relationships.

Two common issues with anger:

The first is self-destruction, a dangerous slope. An individual in a constant state of self-blame and ridicule loses sight of their attributes of oneself and others. During anger, the tongue utters words the mind later regrets. Speaking in the heat of the moment is a common mistake. In the state of anger, the body assumes it is under attack thus enabling the need to justify abode in rage.

The second is the destruction of relationships. So often we utter overextended repetitions of foul to loved ones that lead to severing ties. Relationships crumble in the abode of anger. It’s one thing to feel angry toward someone, and it’s another to allow anger to take control over the tongue. It is never acceptable to intend to destroy one’s moral and later to justify vindictive actions.

Be the light you want to see in this world. Inevitably, all humans have their shortcomings. It is valid to discuss feelings of hurt in a manner that does not satisfy the ego; instead, to fulfill the soundness of the heart.

Bringing the truth offers relief from resentment. It communicates with respect. It offers compassion and empathy. It feels with the heart and chooses the best course of action. If the effort to manage anger seems challenging, it goes to say that you’ve invested in the change.

Our actions are a matter of choice. Choosing light over anger initiates all-encompassing levels of character and maturity.

The light is within all of us.

With love,
