Masking the Void
Written by: Abeeda
Part of the problem of suffering is that we try to fill the wound of pain with another shallow hope. We do not wish to endure the pain so we try to mask it; we seek to fool our heart into believing that overlooking the hurt leads to its eventual disappearance.
Sadly, that is not so.
By numbing out the pain and forcing our attention elsewhere, we simply delay our ability to grieve and eventually heal.
Our sorrows and our pains are always carried by us, and we only truly shed them when we learn to face them eye-to-eye, knowing that, despite their every attempt, they did not leave us forever broken.
