Ramadan Challenge: Chapter #16 – Reminder

Ramadan Challenge: Chapter #16 – Reminder

Written by: Barah

“Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur’an.” [20:99][Sahih International]

This chapter of the holy book starts off by telling the Prophet (s) about the Qur’an and how it is a reminder and a warning for the God-fearing. It then goes on to relay the story of Moses (as), indicating that the stories are being told in part to help the final prophet and remind him–and all of us–about the difficulties faced by those in times past.

We can all learn so many lessons from the stories narrated in the Qur’an. And it is very true that they do serve as a wonderful reminder to us for so many different reasons.

Muslims rely on two main things to help us live life and be on the right path: hadith and Qur’an! The Qur’an is like a guide for us, which is why it is referred to as a reminder here; it helps us decide how to go about things, how to make  conscious decisions. And it tells us what the consequences of our actions might be, based on previous experiences others have gone through.

This is why the holy book is one of the most beautiful miracles and signs to have come to us.
