WRITING CONTEST WINNER #5: Maham Adnan

Written by: Maham [mahamspelledbackwards]

Help will find you.

Hope will find you.

It’ll find you when you least expect it, it’ll find you even when you’re living your darkest days over and over again, it’ll find you when you’re so close to falling off the edge.

It’ll find you in the form of an acquaintance who replies to your insta-story with a Radiohead song playing in the background at 2am and asks you if you’re okay.

It’ll find you in the form of a friend who tells you they’ve been going through the same thing as you on a casual lunch-date.

It’ll find you in the form of your little brother bringing you those tiny cookies you used to eat as a kid that got discontinued up until now.

It’ll find you in the form of your buddy taking care of you and telling someone else to respect your boundaries after you’ve opened up to them about it.

It’ll find you in the form of your parents asking you how your day was when you come home slouching under the weight of your backpack.

It’ll find you when you need it the most.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Don’t give up on hope.
