ADVICE: BEING A NEW MOTHER
Dear Chereen,
Any ideas on how to get through the transition of no kids to kids? I’m in a struggle right now as a new mom and need any good advice.
Sincerely,

Dearest Anonymous,
Congratulations on your new bundle of joy!
Motherhood can be overwhelming for new mothers as this means a whole lot of new changes in your life from various aspects. Needless to say, these changes can be daunting as this means you have to adjust yourself to a whole new routine which includes losing a lot of sleep on top of other things. Not to say foreign experiences that you never had to go through before being a mother!
While it takes a lot of effort to adjust to this new routine, remember that self-care is important too. Often times we idealise thoughts that we need to give our utmost best to our child. But one thing we tend to forget is that, to give the best to our child, we need to be in our best state as well. It is only human to feel exhausted and struggling to make ends meet.
For you to reach out asking this out loud takes a whole lot of courage and I deeply appreciate it. This is why you should never be afraid to reach out to your support system especially your husband, closest family members and even your friends. Asking for help to take some time off for yourself sometimes, is the best thing to do as a new mother.
Sometimes we get too indulged in taking our new role as a mother, we forget to give time to our dear selves. Your dear self whom your husband chose to marry, the bright daughter your parents raised and the very same lady who shines.
It is very easy to lose ourselves once we have taken a new, overwhelming role. So just take some time off – forget the dishes, forget the laundry, eat take out food!
Just do something that you once enjoyed before being a mother. Enjoy and treasure you. It’s okay to dream big and save the world, but even superheroes need a break. 🙂
Love & Light,
Nadrah.
