Chapter #24: His Hands

“When man is visited by a trouble, he prays to Us, but when, after that, We favor him with some blessing from Us, he says, “This is given to me because of (my) knowledge.” No, but this is a trial, yet most of them do not know.”[Mufti Taqi Usmni][39:49]

Isn’t this always the case? People always pride themselves for their capability to create their own futures, when in reality it’s all God’s doing. Without God, you wouldn’t be where you currently are, no matter how much you try. And when do you remember God the most? When you find yourself in trouble. but when all is well God is the last thing on you mind.

This verse also tells us something important. Blessings can be a trial in disguise; you may not know it on the spot, but eventually you will. Being healthy can be a trial; maybe you should use your health to help those who lack it. Being rich can be a trial; maybe you can help those less fortunate. And so on.

In the end, remember that it’s all in God’s hands.
