Chapter #3: The heart

“Say, “Whether you conceal what is in your breasts [hearts] or reveal it, God knows it. And He knows that which is in the heavens and that which is on the earth. And God is over all things competent.” [Sahih International][3:29]
God knows it all. He knows what’s in our hearts, always. We can try and hide it but from Him, but it’s impossible. And knowing that, we should always ask ourselves…why? Why are we doing this? Are we doing it for His sake or for those around us? Questioning ourselves, our sincerity, always helps with recognizing our intentions; that way, if we do not have the right intention, we could change that. Because in the end ,Islam is all about intentions and what’s in the heart.
And since it’s all based on what’s inside, a part that only God truly knows, who are we to judge others based on what we “think” they’re doing? Emphasis on the “think.” because we will never truly know what anyone’s true and sincere intention is. God Himself can only know that.
So remember to think once, twice, and thrice before judging someone based on what you see and “think” they’re doing.
