Confidence

Confidence

What makes you feel “you can’t do it”?

Who told you “you can’t do it”?

I want to understand where this disconnect is coming from. I want to know where this lack of confidence is stemming from.

Because, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Let’s be honest, no one is stripping away your confidence as much as you are.

Your biggest obstacle is you.

Maybe it’s because you don’t feel like you’re good enough.

Or, maybe you just don’t see the point in putting all this effort into being confident.

Confidence takes effort, it doesn’t just happen overnight. It comes from a long time of support. A good support system creates confidence and helps it grow.

So, when your life lacks support, learn to be your own support; that’s where the effort comes in to play. Being your own support is extremely difficult; but not impossible.

I bet you’re asking yourself, how do I become my own support?

Well, here is how I did it. I did -and do- what I love.

I’ve been writing for years, and no one showed any interest in my work [excluding my wonderful immediate family]. I tried to make my own presence in the online writing world, and I’ve been here for some time doing my own thing.

I wrote every chance I could, even though most of the time it would go unread. Not a single like, comment, or anything to show me that my writing mattered to anyone. But I kept writing, I didn’t let the lack of readers get to me.

Instead I let it affect me in a positive way, I kept writing till I finally got a response from someone. Someone who read my work, who thought my work was worthy of liking and leaving a comment. A comment that contained their opinion and their own experience on the topic at hand.

That alone made me feel on top of the world. And slowly my work reached more and more people.

And here I am now, a writer and editor on a wonderful page that inspires and helps so many people. I was my own support for a long time. And having that helped my confidence grow and flourish, Alhamdulila.

Remind yourself that you are amazing, and that you can do anything you put your mind to. Confidence is key, and no one can give you as much confidence as you can give yourself.
