Expectations

Expectations

Written by: Abeeda

We pay little heed to how our own actions impact others; we forget that our mood seeps out, even in silence, and speaks to those around us.

We rarely spend our time choosing our words with precision, fearing how they will cut through the hearts of others.

We expect the aid of others when we find ourselves in darkness, hopeful of a hand that will guide us through our pain.

Is it not time for us to ask ourselves, “When did I last serve another with the same dignity I hope to be met with?”

We become consumed by our expectations of others, but we forget that others have placed their own expectations upon our shoulders. When we shift our inner focus away from the let-downs and the disappointments, life will begin to taste sweeter.

Begin today: give what you hope to gain.
