Hope

Hope

They say that after every rainfall must come a rainbow, but before this rainbow there is sometimes a storm. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It often feels like the storm will last forever. The thunder strikes and you begin to hold your breath. Your window shakes and the tree that’s been an ascribed part of your home for as long as you can remember- it soon splits in half and collapses on the floor. The rain is no longer majestic and lovely, it becomes scary as it pounds on your windows and doors. The thunder strikes randomly as your heart begins to race. You begin to wonder if you will survive such a heavy storm. It soon becomes worse before it gets better. Your electricity is cut, your fence is torn apart, and there is severe damage done to the car that you proudly own.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Storms are scary, but they don’t last forever. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Storms are hardships. Sometimes they can be predicted but other times they come out of nowhere and land straight into your lap. As human beings, we focus heavily on these hardships. If we allow them to control us, they become a primary part of our identity. We have the capability to focus strictly on the negatives. It’s easier to find a reason to believe that things will continue to get worse. While they might temporarily get worse, they gradually get better.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
The “gradually” comes in the form of silver linings. It’s the dim light at the end of the tunnel, the ability to get out of bed, and the flicker of hope that is carefully placed in your heart after you spent hours praying late into the night. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hardship is undeniably tough. It drains your energy, drinks your cup of positivity, and leaves you feeling blank. If you look carefully into your cup you will find the most important drops are always left behind. Those are bits of hope that are powerful.
⠀⠀⠀
Verses never leave your heart. Verily, with hardship comes ease. The storm is bound to disappear and a blessing of a rainbow will appear. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Try to hang in there. I promise you’re stronger than the storm. ⠀
