Injustice

Injustice

Written by: Abeeda

We carry the injuries that people have caused us as justifications for our sadness. Yet we forget that the weight of these pains only worsen our suffering.

We can never force someone to apologize for their mistreatment, nor can we make them accept responsibility for their injustices upon us.

That is the hardest part of letting go.

Learning to forgive someone irrespective of them asking for that honor takes courage and strength. I have come to find that forgiving others does not negate their injustices, but it does free you from the bitterness they brought into your life.

There will come a day when the Most Just will deal with their matters and reward you for the forgiveness that you learned to show. So, we must struggle on, battling the inner voice that asks, “Why?” reassuring it with whispers of, “The time will come.”
