Never Quite enough

Never Quite enough

Written by: Abeeda

With my gentle touch of trust,

You lowered the mask that you had adorned for so long.

Despite the scars, imperfections, and flaws;

I only saw your beauty.

As time passed,

I began to dismantle my fortress;

My mask remained –

But as our trust blossomed,

I slowly began to remove it.

You looked on,

And I knew from your eyes,

My scars, my imperfections, and my flaws –

They were too much for you to bear.
