Q+A: Being attached
Written by: Chereen
Q: How do you personally deal with missing things? I have attachment issues.
A: I don’t really miss things. There’s one thing that I do miss and it’s a someone; my dad. He passed away a couple of years ago and losing him taught me how to define and control attachment.
If it’s a material item, it isn’t worth being attached to. Everything is temporary, so it’s better to attach yourself to goals and strive to accomplish them. That can be done by writing them down and focusing your energy on them. It gives you something to look forward to when you’re working on your goals. Also, it’s nice to reward yourself once you’ve accomplished one of them.
Walk with purpose; attach yourself to tasks that will bring out the best in you. Time is of the essence, so doing this will help you realize you’re putting your time to good use.
