Strength in the Self

Strength in the Self

Written by: Marissa

And if I should be provoked,

By someone’s immoral action,

Help me look to you,

For inner satisfaction,

The toxic actions of humans,

Will not disturb my current state,

Lead me not to look to the negative,

But mold from a lacking, to appreciate;

The good health within my reach,

The reconstruction of these bones,

A brain with mental satisfaction,

Not the verbiage of sticks and stones.

They will not be able to bend,

The strength that has been gained,

The only thing they are a jest to,

Is the sadness that has remained.

But through strength forged from within,

And acquired through my sorrow,

Strokes out their senseless action,

Only to paint a forgiving tomorrow.
