The Dark Side

You smother the voices of those who have been oppressed,
by the virtuousness of faith.
You gag their desperate screams,
with culturally warped ideals.
You give benefit of the doubt where it suits,
and deny it of the rest.
You have self-proclaimed knowledge of matters your eyes have never seen.
You speak with such eloquence believing your opinion matters;
your status updates reach the world, surely that counts for something?!
The hypocrisy keeps unfolding, with everyone proclaiming truth.
But if you were to look just slightly deeper,
you would see that you have become blind;
you are steeped in double standards,
with ignorance smeared across your minds.
