You’re missing the world outside, aren’t you?

When do we miss something?

When there’s some good in it. Something valuable, something to be cherished. When it gives us a sense of purpose, a sense of joy. And so, when it’s gone we miss it.

Now tell me. You’re missing the world outside, aren’t you? The same world you were weary of, where all you could see was how it bores your or drains you. How you felt there’s nothing exciting and charming remaining in it. The world that you wished you could just shut off. But now, you miss its sweet nothings. You wish to go back outside, soak in the beauty there is, appreciate the details, and admire the ordinary!

The unexplainable morning rush and erratic list of errands for the day. Voyaging through the traffic and busy-ness to get to your destination. Reaching uni, office, or a school drop off. I wonder if yours is a picturesque ride you enjoy or an obstacle rally you dread! Grabbing a cup of coffee at your favorite cafe, smiling at the familiar faces whose life story you’d wish you knew. Making your way aimlessly at the aisles while grocery shopping. Always forgetting that one main thing, you came to pick. Hours with friends or colleagues that simply sail by unnoticed. Movie dates, lunch dates, and play dates; you cannot escape. Celebrations with dear ones all set to be registered in the pages of your memory. Family get-togethers that you’ve picked an outfit for weeks ahead. The excitement is real! Oh, and that one daily sight on your way home: a favorite tree that silently greets you, an old neighbor you wave at, or the children noisily playing at the park. It’s hard to ignore the sweet tiredness as you return home. The next day outside, is another amusing ride.

As much as we long for all this now,

I earnestly hope we remember this bitter longing!

So finally, when the time arrives that we can move out and about, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for each time we step into the world outside.

The essence of this content instils the authenticity of an individual’s life. As you start reading you’re taken to another world (imaginary) already , where you literally start feeling that it’s the future reality, yet so surreal. The writer explains each detailings so meticulously, that for me , it works like magic.
    Truly sensational! ✨
